ISLAMABAD: The government will provide full support to promote tourism in the country as national cause, Special Assistant of Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari said while speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday.Under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to promote Pakistan as a tourist country, Bukhari promised that the government will promote tourism as a national cause to open country for local and foreign tourists.“Tourism is a highly profitable sector and private enterprises should come forward and invest in this industry.” Pakistan has maximum potential to attract tourists. The government is framing short and long term policies to promote tourism, he added.The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) would also be revamped to help flourish sector. The inbound tourism will be the centre of focus as its promotion would attract a number of foreign tourists.He acknowledged the removal of NOC requirements for the foreign tourists and termed it as a positive big step toward promoting tourism.On Tuesday, in a tweet, the Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain announced the removal of No Objection Certificate (NOC) condition for foreign tourists visiting Pakistan, under new visa policy to promote tourism in the country.
