Nawaz decides Sharif Medical City Hospital for treatment

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who has been released on bail for six week on medical grounds, has decided for medical treatment at Sharif Medical City Hospictal.Nawaz Sharif, who was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail late Tuesday night, met his personal physician Dr Adnan at Jati Umra.A team of doctors from Sharif Medical City Hospital was also present during the meeting with Nawaz Sharif, who examined him. The team of doctors has decided further medical tests of the former prime minister.Sources said Nawaz Sharif would be shifted to SMCH for treatment on Thursday.Nawaz was released from the Kot Lakhpat Jail after the Supreme Court granted him bail for six weeks.PML-N stalwart and former federal minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry presented the court orders to the jail administration after reaching Lahore by a private aircraft. Before leaving the jail premises, Nawaz also had a meeting with the prison staff and thanked the administration, sources said.Shahbaz also called on Nawaz at Kot Lakhpat Jail before the latter’s release. After receiving a sentence of seven years imprisonment by an accountability court in December 2018, Nawaz was first sent to Adiala and later to Kot Lakhpat Jail. From December 24, 2018 to March 26, 2019, he spent around three months in Kot Lakhpat Jail after he was granted bail by the court on medical grounds. However, he isn’t allowed to travel abroad.
